Article #1 - Outlook Express Email Configuration
transhost.org - Domains - Web Hosting - Translation Knowledge Base -> English -> Web Hosting -> E-Mail -> E-Mail Client Configuration
Go!:

Microsoft Outlook Express - Configuration Wizard

The easiest manner to configure Outlook Express is to create and install the configuration script from CPanel. To do this, log into CPanel, click on the Mail icon, look for the account that you wish to configure, and click on "Configure Mail Client". It will then prompt you to download a file. Download this file and install it onto your machine. Remember you must first create the account in CPanel and then configure your client program on your computer. Use this process at your own risk.

If you would rather manually configure Outlook Express or if you are having problems sending or receiving email, please follow the instructions below.

Step 1:

Click on Tools and then Accounts.

Click on Tools - Accounts

Step 2:

Click on Main -> Add -> Mail.

Click on Add - Mail

Step 3:

This will start the Email Account Wizard. Fill in your name as you wish it to appear in any emails. Do not put your email account name here.

Fill in your name.

Click on Next.

Step 4:

Enter your email address here. It must match exactly the account name that you created in CPanel.

Enter your email account name here.

Click on Next.

Step 5:

Fill in the server names here. Most email accounts are POP3. If you know what you are doing and wish to create a different account, select the proper type here.

Fill in the Server Names.

Click on Next.

Step 6:

Enter the logon information here. Make sure that you use name@your-domain.tld for the account name.

Enter logon information.

Click on Next.

Step 7:

You are finished with the wizard.

Finished.

Normally, this would configure the email account, but sometimes minor changes must be made. There is one more step to use Transhost's outgoing mail server. To do this, we must go into the Properties.

To adjust any Properties, including the smtp authorization, of the account, click here.
