Description
There is a flaw in the Microsoft Office 2003 software in which the "Send To email recipient as attachment" will not show or is darkened and will not work. This is true for all Office 2003 programs; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and more.

This microsoft kbase article addresses this issue:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834008

I followed the instructions in "Method 2: Verify the registry settings" and built the registry keys. After this was completed, and the ability to send an email message as an attachment was successfully "fixed" on my Windows XP machine, I exported the newly created registry settings into a registry file.

The off2003fix.reg file will automatically add the necessary registry settings to enable this to work, or at least it did for me. I am unsure if it will work with Vista.

=============================

*** Use this file at your own risk

Seriously, adding registry keys in this manner may seriously harm your computer. I suggest that you backup your registry before using this file that I provide. This is how:

- Click on Start > Run
-- Type "regedit" in the field (no quotation marks)
--- Click on File > Export
---- Make sure that the "Export range" is set to "All" in the bottom of this window
----- Give the new file a name and save it, preferably on your desktop. This file may be quite large. I believe that it should be around 80-120mb.

If you wish to restore the registry to its current unaltered state, simply follow the above instructions and select Import instead of Export, browse to your registry file on the desktop (or wherever you saved it) and click on OK or Apply.

==============================

I would never download a registry file and execute it on my own computer, unless I knew that it was from a trustworthy source, and then I would backup the registry first. I make this file available to save you the time of creating your own registry keys as is mentioned in the Microsoft knowledgebase article referred to above. If it works for you, I would appreciate you leaving a comment here so that others would know.

Thanks.
